In loving memory of Acad. Professor Adelaida Mateescu (1932-2009), the research lab of Signal Processing bears her name, under the aegis of Romanian Academy of Technical Sciences.

Professor Hermann Rohling was awarded the title Doctor Honoris Causa by the Politehnica University of Timisoara (12.11.2020). Among other achievements, Professor Rohling is considered the father of the constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detection technique based on statistically ordered filters (OS). He designed new waveforms for radar systems, that allow simultaneous measurement of target distance and speed, even in multi-target scenarios. We are both honored and happy to have received Professor Hermann Rohling in the academic family of the Politehnica University of Timisoara!
